Marks & Spencer has launched a new bra which aims to enhance cleavage by two cup sizes.
But how does it fare compared to its rivals - which include the Wonderbra, seamless bras and a 'memory foam' bra.
Here we put them to the test...
La Senza three-way Air Bra, £18, left: The maker claims this bra will boost you by a cup size - and give you the freedom to control the shape and size of your bosoms. It works via one pre-inflated pad in each cup which you can angle in the bra to create the effect you want. In reality, the bra didn't flatter at all on my 36C-cups. I found the shape artificial and it didn't feel very secure. 2/5
M&S Two Sizes Up, £20: Achieves its aim with the help of thick padding that boosts cups instantly. Low-tech construction, and the effects are unsubtle but effective.
The bra gave me an eye-popping cleavage and was surprisingly comfortable. However, the seams are visible through clothing and the patterned fabric is a little obvious. Best worn under evening wear. 4/5
What Katy Did Bullet Bra, £27.50:
With its its retro feel and Madonna-esque conical cups this bra certainly gives you a different shape to most others on the market. Cone-shaped bosoms are guaranteed to give you an attention-grabbing shape, whatever your bra size. But while it's great fun, I'm not sure this is really wardrobe staple - maybe great fancy dress party instead. 2/5
La Senza ITEC Bra, £25:
The ITEC bra is claimed to be the ultimate in revolutionary lingerie and certainly gives you a high-tech cleavage. Made from a top-secret mould and microfibre fabric, this one-piece bra eliminates seams and stitching all together - to give you a really streamlined shape. As well as being comfortable, the bra lifted my bosom to new heights. But it wasn't quite killer cleavage - more hourglass instead. There is a slight overspill effect, though, so definitely not one to wear under a T-shirt for a smooth look. 3/5
Ultimo Miracle Plunge Bra, £26:
This claims to boost the wearer by up to two full cup sizes thanks to built-in gel pouches made of real silicone. I loved it - the effect the bra gives is dramatic but still reassuringly natural-looking.
The silicone pads are designed to mould around the breast instead of just propping it 'up and out' so it has the same movement as breast tissue, without looking too surgically enhanced. The sophisticated woman's choice for a subtle, grown-up lift. 5/5
Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless Bra, £20.50:
This is billed as the ultimate strapless bra. The cups (underneath the patterned exterior) are made from polycarbonate foam - much lighter than normal bra fabrics - in the shape of hand, cupping and lifting the breast. Despite an impressively lifted cleavage I still didn't feel it fitted as securely as the maker promises. It would give a great cleavage under a strapless dress, but it's one for sit-down dinners only. I wouldn't want to run for a bus in it. 2/5
Seamless adhesive bra, La Senza, £29:
The maker claims this stick-on bra provides shape and support while being seamless and lightweight, but if you've been blessed with anything bigger than a B-cup I would steer clear.
The bra comes with a peel-off film that is removed to expose a layer of adhesive that sticks the bra to your skin. On my C-cups it barely stayed in place for five minutes. My breasts were quickly drooping, and I wouldn't have dreamed of leaving the house wearing it. 1/5
Instant Uplift Bra, Tesco, £19:
The one-size instant uplift bra promises to defy gravity and boost even the smallest of chests by using a unique band of elastic that sits under your everyday bra and lifts everything up.
It looks like a cross between a sports bra and a bandage and once on leaves little to the imagination. The clunky design is ugly and the effects non-existent. I couldn't see any change to my cleavage and the bra was uncomfortable as well as unsightly. 0/5
Gok Wan Balconette Banger Booster Bra, £33:
The colour and style look old-fashioned, but this bra is touted as being at the cutting edge. It incorporates power mesh technology to give a supersmooth appearance and an 'internal sling' to boost your cleavage with extra support.
Once on, I still felt quite frumpy, and really didn't like the design. But it gave me fantastic cleavage shape. This would be a great bra to give a secure and womanly shape under tight clothing. A practical rather than pretty choice. 3/5
Wonderbra Plunge Original, £25.50:
The original plunge bra, and still one of the best. The plunging cups produce a dramatic cleavage for breasts big and small.
The back straps and underwire on the cups are angled for optimum support and maximum enhancement. Removable pads are also included - which allows you to control how big your boost is.
This bra's precise design works just as well on flat-chested females as it does on bigger-breasted ladies. 4/5
La Senza Dreamshapers Smart Bra, £29:
The box diagrams show nine different ways you can wear it by adjusting the straps.
In reality, working out where the bra straps hook together is like a jigsaw puzzle - and once you've worked it out, the support factor is minimal.
It certainly didn't give me the cleavage I was promised either.
M&S Memory Foam T-Shirt Bra, £18:
I love my memory foam pillow - made of a high-tech fabric that moulds to the body - and after trying this bra on I love what it does to my figure as well.
It is smooth, seam-free and comfortable - and it looks as good under a T-shirt as an evening dress. A lingerie staple that every woman should have in her drawer no matter what the cup size.
